About Myself
Currently I’m working on a musical called Dysfunction with my writer friend Sean Kelly. He’s written the book and I’m working on the songs (both lyrics and music). It’s a very modern break-up story that serves as both a dark-comedy as well as a reflection on the break-up process from all parties involved.
I mostly write just for piano or piano and strings since it serves as the ideal groundwork to build upon. At times though I try my hand at humble sized orchestrationing, something I’d like to get more into someday.
When I’m not working on that I paint (and also have a job in retail). Mostly oil paintings but acrylic and water colours occasionally.. Painting is my meditation, my cool-down session, the place I turn to when I need to escape. Where music and lyrics are a beautifully complex city street, painting would be a small house in the country with a large porch and possibly a farm dog.
I have a voraciously unquenchable thirst for philosophy and knowledge. If left unattended I may or may not will make my way to wikipedia. More than once I’ve spent 6+ hours on there in a single sitting. Finishing off my list I enjoy poetry and writing. I have several books ideas that hopefully will one day make their way out of my head and onto a page.
My other passions in life are hiking, wine, tea and cooking. I have a small stockpile of various tea leaves, mostly green teas. My favourite right now is my ginkgo sencha. I reside in London, Ontario where I was born, raised and attended school upto my first year of university. I plan on staying here for the near future.
